About the Author

Elliot Aronson is one of the most eminent and versatile psychologists of our time.  He is the only person in the 120 year history of the American Psychological Association to have won all three of its major awards: Distinguished Researcher (1999), Distinguished Teaching (1980), and Distinguished Writing (1975).  In addition, among his many honors are the Gordon Allport Prize for his contributions to the betterment of intergroup relations, and the Donald Campbell Award for distinguished research in social psychology. 

In 1981, he was named Professor of the Year by the American Council for the Advancement and Support of Education.  Inducted in 1992, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences.  In 2007, he was named a William James Fellow in commemoration of a lifetime of creative contributions to scientific psychology.

Simple and to the Point

Great book! I want to read it again, and this time take notes. I might read it again when I take a Social Psychology class, instead of just reading it for fun. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to gain self-knowledge. Social Psychology is all based on experiments, experiments in which regular people, just like you or me, do mostly the exact opposite of what you'd expect. The most interesting part for me was how people constantly try to justify what they say and do and what they see others say and do, with dire consequences for their able to question, think rationally, and be open-minded to other ideas than the ones they profess and believe.

LOVED this book as an undergrad... Still have it 20+ years later...

"The Social Animal" was a required textbook for a social psychology class I took as an undergraduate. I studied under Robert Cialdini (sp?) who, himself, is an incredible social psychologist. While I've long since rid of the great majority of my text books, after 23+ years, I still have this book (an earlier version of course).... If money weren't an issue, I'd by the updated version in a heartbeat... For anyone interested in how individuals act in social situations, this is an incredible book. No doubt, this much more recent version holds even more wonderful information... Until it becomes available via Kindle or the price lowers greately, I'll hold on to my very outdated version. :)

I read Social Animal in 1976 for class. Read it again in 1982 for repeat of class. I still had my book from those years but I wanted a new copy. You filled the bill. Thank you. This one starts really, REALLY raunchy, and it stays that way all the way through. Sophia acts in ways that are only acceptable in erotica stories like this, and hey, that's why I read this genre.
For that matter, Gerald Sand, hunky billionaire (drool) acts in some very “erotica-only” ways as well, particularly during a very explicit dinner scene.
Bottom line? The two are meant to be together, and luckily there's a Happily-Ever-After at the end of this. I would have been VERY mad if Sophia ended up with someone else...and I was pleasantly surprised by the way that she decided to win Gerald's heart (hint: she decides that just one woman isn't enough for him...)

I read a lot of erotica and this ticked a lot of boxes. I find dominant men a turn on and the ones who are billionaires/bosses/people in positions of power always seem to get my pulse racing. This is lots of really hot action in it and had me wanting to read more of Nadia's books.

I have read a few more so far, nothing as yet has surpassed my enjoyment of this book.

If you like steamy action with a Billionaire Boss I cannot recommend this book more highly.

This story is about Sophia, a “new adult” in the world, who falls in love with billionaire Gerald Sand. It's a story you've read before, done Nadia Nightside's way.

So, what does that mean? Well, to me it means the main star here is the sexy writing and the hot sex scenes. There are plenty of both, and they really got me involved.

The story is good, and the dialogue appropriately quippy and fun, but really what I was in it for was some steamy action, and I got it!

About the Author
Tony Robles was born and raised in San Francisco. He is the author of two children's books, Lakas and the Manilatown Fish and Lakas and the Makibaka Hotel, written for his son, Lakas. He is co-editor and a revolutionary worker scholar of Poor magazine. In 2010 he was nominated for the Pushcart Prize by Mythium Literary Journal for his short story, "In My Country." Robles is also a housing rights advocate and board member of the Manilatown Heritage Foundation. He currently lives in Oakland with his wife Tiny and his son Tibu.

SF Poet of the Real

Robles' poetry is both sublime and real. I used to run into him and his uncle, the "Filipino Poet Laureate of San Francisco," Al Robles, on the bus. That's the kind of poet Tony is. A poet of the people, like his uncle, he observes and turns a beautiful phrase into a heartbreak of recognition. He knows the streets of San Francisco; he knows the souls of poetry living in each of the old and broken bodies blithely ignored by hipster tourists rampaging like hungry locusts. His poems make you feel human.
