Great book to get a good overview of LTE

This book gives a very good and detailed overview of LTE and LTE-A. I am a PhD candidate and I work in the area of cellular networks - I found this book extremely useful to learn the so-many different aspects of LTE and LTE-A in a relatively short time-frame (of 2-3months). I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to get a working knowledge of LTE as a whole (the book provides excellent references too if anyone wishes to go into the details of any particular aspect).

This is a very well written book. The author has done an excellent job of covering various aspect of LTE. The notation is very consistent. For a text book of this size (over 1100 pages) , one normally expects lots of typos. This book breaks that trend. Kudos to the author for creating a very engaging text on LTE and LTE-Advanced.

This is an excellent book - and I believe that it sets standards for structure, scope, clarity, consistency of terminology and authority - for any technical book.

If you want to understand LTE/LTE-A, as a technical person, from a systems perspective, through to node and functional levels, then this book would be difficult to improve on. The historical and standardization context are also excellently presented.

The book is large - but the clear structure allows the reader to find and focus on individual topics. The what, when and why aspects of each node, interface and protocol are treated - with very useful references for further investigation at the end of each chapter.

Highly recommended. This book represents a very successful effort by an author to communicate what they know, in an organized logical way - with clear, consistent language - and terminology.

Really good basic book

I did not have any 3D design experience before taking a class in SolidWorks and buying this book. Our class is using 2013 version, but I bought this older version and haven't had any issues beside some obvious dimensioning typos. The book is very clear and well laid out. My instructor is very good and has a lot of experience in design, but doesn't deviate from the tutorials much because they are very nicely written. She did point out a couple of items that the book does not emphasize that if neglected could affect the design.

Not so helpful

This book was recommended to me all over the place when I wanted to know more about music therapy. As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum who was very interested in music therapy, I did not find it so helpful or hopeful, for that matter. Dorita Berger's book, Music Therapy, Sensory Integration and the Autistic Child was very good.

*I'M FROM BRAZIL AND I APOLOGIZE FOR THE LANGUAGE BARRIER.* I bought ''TRM'' for Kindle, ''TRM'' takes an in depth look at the technique and research with intelligence potential. Even more, this book presented methodology of building brain power independent of smart drug or behavior change (tracking, control, thinking, reiteration). In this sense this book was easy to read and the chapter names let you study your areas of interests.

This book goes deep in the cognitive enhancement science, but I will call it a guide or maybe semitechnical overview (I don't know) so it has no Anthony Simola's personal voice or details of any his personal experiments that he has done (but I don't know this). He is neutral and has anger (or critism but I think personally he goes too far) with computer brain games, such as Lumosity for example, he thinks they are not effective with ''very weak'' research. Well maybe the author is a very weak person, who knows!

Also I have a biochemistry background (diploma USP Universidade de São Paulo) and Anthony Simola recommended this very high intake with supplements. Even with medical warning, he is responsible for this recommendation. In the end I wanted more and there are even better other books on Amazon.

Interesting and Inspired

Simola's guide to cognitive enhancement has done so much more for me than simply allowing me to think clearer (which it completely has). Not only have I seen an improvement in my critical thinking, but I've noticed a renewed vitality as well. The book is comprehensive to the point where improving your mental health involves improving your physical well being too. I particularly enjoyed his chapters on the supplements and the relationship between energy and eastern dietary practices (the Sattvic diet aka The Gandhi Diet).

I highly recommend this book for anyone who wants to increase their mental and physical energy!

A Comprehensive Approach to Cognitive Enhancement

As is intelligence is this book manifold. The book discusses a wide range of different aspects of cognitive enhancement varying from memorization techniques (I hihgly recommend using these in your studying) to nootropics and mastering energy with Eastern practices. Its comprehensive approach offers much to reflect and chew. I personally enjoyed reading the parts on smart drugs and lucid dreaming and the whole final section of the book addressing the interesting future of cognitive enhancement.

Walt never could've thought up this...

I bought the set after reading before midnight. This set of stories which encompasses 5 princes and finding their maidens/mates. The maidens come from the classic fairy tales, but these stories although have the HEA are darker and more thrilling than Disney could ever imagine. Absolutely love the dark side with the twist of paranormal mixed in. Can't wait for more.

Three for one - and all for love!

After enjoying the Kingdom series by Marie Hall so much I searched Amazon (.de, that's why this is not shown as verified bought) for more fairy tales and found this enticing series. The setting is quite different from the original but it hooked me right from the start, couldn't stop reading and bought all other books in the Blood Princes series. Luckily the first three are in a bundle - that's three glowing fairytales for the price of one. You can't go wrong with this!

The first one, Before Midnight, tells the story of Loupe, a very different, admirable and captivating heroine. She has a secret she needs to keep hidden from her family, she's vulnerable but strong and witty and I liked her from the very beginning. Her prince is not the charming sunnyboy one might expect but breathtakingly sexy, deep and opens to the emotions she stirs in him. It is a beautifully told tale and the background set for the rest of the series is intriguing and special.

The second, One Bite, goes on with Irina. And wow, she is amazing! Her dark and slightly dusty hero (so very sexy in his grumpiness!) really needs her to lighten him up and she does with a very big heart and the will to do anything necessary to survive and to keep others safe and happy. It combines pieces of the old tale with breathtaking sexyness and a very modern spin that fits perfectly into the story.

Last but not least the third: Golden Stair - and this time it is a heroine kept away from the real world and spun into a web of lies. Ivy pulled at my heartstrings but Adonis made me quiver. What a hero. Fighting against himself, trying to flee his feelings and still so wonderfully romantic and wild. Keep your tissues ready here. You might well need them!

Full reading recommendation! And then go on - the series isn't done with those three and there is more delicious reading to have!

Like Jays Potato chips - no-one can eat just one.

I am a big fan of fantasy in general, and this series is one of my top 10 authors on the theme of what I think of as "Fractured Fairytales" (OK, I admit it - I LOVED the original Jay Ward versions scattered throughout the Rocky and Bullwinkle show,and am always looking for something similar in nature.) One of my other favorites along this line is Mercedes Lackey's 500 Kingdoms novels - but I digress. Jennifer Blackstream's writing is the "adult" version, true, but hey, I'm definitely an adult, have been for years,and the problem with the Brothers Grimm version is that all the characters seem like cardboard cutouts, just going through the motions.By the time we're halfway through with Before Midnight, we really despise the stepmother, so much that we are secretly wishing for her eventual demise, and a more painful end would not really bother anyone. By the second book, one finds oneself trying to second guess what's going to happen, and when I read book three - I IMMEDIATELY had to download and read the rest of the series, just to see where this was all going. Give it a try - you'll like it.

Hussein Nasser is an Esri award-winning senior GIS solution architect working in the GIS field since 2006. He is the author of three books in the ArcGIS technology: Administering ArcGIS for Server, Learning ArcGIS Geodatabases, and Building Web Applications with ArcGIS, all by Packt Publishing. In 2007, he won the first place at the annual ArcGIS Server Code Challenge, conducted at the Esri Developer Summit in Palm Springs, California. In 2014, he started the IGeometry YouTube channel, where he periodically publishes educational GIS videos.

Excellent Book

I highly recommend this book not only for ArcGIS Developers of all levels but also for students and GIS Analysts who want to get more knowledge in the topic of developing applications for ArcGIS using ArcObjects.

The book was published recently and the author uses the latest ArcGIS release at this time which is 10.3. The examples are written for the Visual Basic version of Visual Studio .NET and although I am not a developer I have been able to adapt the examples from the book in some applications we are building at work.

The author goes from simple examples to intermediate and more advanced applications that can be easily applied to your daily flow of work. I particularly found interesting the application in chapter 4 “Real Time Maneuvering” where a person is been tracked through the GPS signal of a cell phone and the distance from this person to a control tower is updated in real time to finally calculate signal strength.

The author hosts a channel in Youtube called IGeometry where he has published a big amount of videos in the topic of ArcObjects and that He keeps up to date with new releases of videos. You can reach him with question and most of the time He answers shortly.
